DirectTrust Community X.509 Certificate Policy

The DirectTrust Community X.509 Certificate Policy (DirectTrust CP) describes the unified policy under which a compliant Certification Authority operates. This document defines the creation and life-cycle management of X.509 version 3 Public Key Certificates for use in applications primarily supporting electronic health information exchange, including Direct exchange.

MaxMD Registration Practices Statement

The MaxMD Direct HISP Registration Practices Statement (RPS) outlines the procedures that MaxMD Direct HISP and its customers follow to comply with the MaxMD CPS and the DirectTrust CP. If any inconsistency exists between the MaxMD RPS and the MaxMD CPS, the MaxMD CPS takes precedence.

This document specifies the X.509 version 3 certificate and version 2 certificate revocation list (CRL) profiles which include:

• CRLs issued for use with DirectTrust Accredited entities.
• DirectTrust Issuing CA certificate profile
• DirectTrust Domain-Bound certificate profile
• DirectTrust Address-Bound certificate profile
• DirectTrust Device certificate profile
• DirectTrust Content Commitment certificate profile

These profiles serve to identify unique parameter settings for certificates and CRLs issued for use within the DirectTrust Trust Framework. These Profiles are based on the DirectTrust Certificate Policy v2.0.
